Julie was born and raised in Greensboro, she moved to Washington DC and then to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she lives with her husband and her family.
Julie is the Chief Communications Officer for PMi. She is heavily involved with the pest control industry at a state and national level. She has served on the National Pest Management’s Board of Directors, is current Vice Chair of NPMA’s Public Policy Committee and the current Chair of NPMA’s Marketing to Membership committee. She helps fundraise for the State’s Professional Women in Pest Management Chapter and was in the inaugural class of the Leader Launch Program for the National Pest Management Association. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Quality Pro, and the marketing council for the Professional Pest Management Alliance.
Julie loves being able to connect with PMi’s customers and help them solve their issues and concerns. She says, “We have established such a strong community presence, and being committed to giving back to our community is vital. This is an amazing part of my job; I am so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside so many impactful people trying to make a difference and being able to coordinate all our community outreach. I LOVE our team- what I enjoy is being able to travel to our corporate office and be able to learn from the team and make sure we all feel appreciated and valued in our positions. I appreciate them and I enjoy the relationships with them.”
For Julie, this is truly a family business. She feels blessed to learn from her dad, Billy Tesh, and from her mom, Laurie. She says, “Dad is truly the energizer bunny and it’s so refreshing to see how much he loves what he does, and both my parents do it with such conviction and passion. I love being able to work with them.”
Anyone that knows Julie also knows that she loves her sweet pups, Ford Ruffin and Elouise, and donates a lot of her time in Baton Rouge to helping the in-take shelter, Companion Animal Alliance, and has chaired their largest fundraiser, Furball for the last 3 years.
Julie has worked with so many amazing organizations through PMi and her time as Miss North Carolina International, 2009. She served as an intern in the White House and opened her own dress boutique in Greensboro called Swish in 2010. She is passionate about continuing the PMi Cares initiative and helping organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Corks for Kids Path, Greensboro Science Center, Family Home Services and Victory Junction. She is able to spread her message of culture of care, live to give and teach everyone the power they have to make a difference as she speaks across the country at different events and conferences.
